Miss Universe Organization (MUO) president Raul Rocha is looking to sell his stake in the pageant, saying he is “fed up” with all the controversies.

He made the statement in an interview with journalist and fellow Mexican Adela Micha, as reported by People. “This is like a test, like a relay race. Who do I pass the baton to?” he said in Spanish.

When asked why he has changed his mind since acquiring a 50% stake in the pageant, he replied: “It’s just that I’m so fed up. I’m so fed up with all the talk. I don’t lend myself to that kind of thing.”

The Mexican executive also lamented how “everyone wants to have an opinion” about the business.

“They want to come and tell you what decisions you make, how you make them, why you hire people, why you take away people and why you add people,” he said.

The recently concluded 74th Miss Universe has been plagued by controversy and chaos, with judges and contestants stepping down amid rigging allegations.

Rocha earlier denied that the results of the competition were pre-determined in favor of fellow Mexican Fatima Bosch, but later drew flak again for his statements about fan favorite Olivia Yace of Cote d’Ivoire.
